The name 'Shilp' means handicraft in Hindi, which is an apt name for this platform as it is short and memorable.

The logo is inspired by Kolam rangoli that is drawn with fine white powder in front of the front door of a house. It is believed to encourage goddess Lakshmi to enter the house and bring good fortune. It is integrated with the letter 'S' that stands for Shilp.
