Salivation

A story of a sandwich that get dumped in a trashcan to figure out which side to pick to survive. He journeys through the folklore of the trashcan community and shows us a different perspective on food wastage.

This stop motion film about food was made in collaboration with Meghan Menon and Shrineh Namdeo as part of the Time and Image module conducted by Lolita Bhaduri.

With almost no budget, we improvised and found life hacks that made this film possible. Firstly, the three of us crawled under the table and built ourselves a small set with a black backdrop, that would be unaffected by the light outside. A broken umbrella, a sheet of paper and a loose lightbulb came together to make a softbox.
